Biography

Taryn Dissett is an Associate Attorney at Hassler Kondras Miller and has been a part of this firm since joining in 2020 as a summer intern while in law school. During her time in law school, Taryn earned a specialty in business and transactional law and became a certified family law mediator with the Indiana Bar Association. While in school, Taryn received her provisional license to practice law and worked in her law school’s Elder law clinic, helping low-to-no income clients navigate legal issues related to aging and estate planning. Taryn was also employed at the Georgia Innocence Project, working to correct and prevent wrongful convictions in Georgia. To date, the Georgia Innocence Project has helped free and exonerate sixteen men who collectively spent hundreds of years wrongfully imprisoned. Taryn was honored by the Jackson County Bar Association in 2021 for her pro bono work.

In 2022, Taryn graduated with her juris doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Since joining the firm as an attorney, Taryn has focused her practice in the areas of general civil litigation, contract disputes, business litigation, employment law, and trusts and estates. Taryn also represents family law clients in divorces, parenting time disputes, child custody disputes, adoptions, and premarital agreements.

When she is not practicing law, Taryn enjoys traveling the world with her husband, Stephen, and going on hikes with her two dogs, Beau and Cash. Taryn’s favorite travel location thus far has been South Africa.
